Niykee is still writing songs, even though she has been caught up in the recent turmoil. Niykee was selected to be part of her participation in YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and he accompanied her on stage. As a producer magnet, Niykee is constantly looking through the numerous beats delivered to her. She has found that the majority are a source of new song ideas. "I'll be able to discern within 5 seconds whether it's a great beat. Once I've a tune in my mind I'll begin writing right away." My guitar is set up on the porch, and I'll let my words flow. It's usually done within thirty minutes. Niykee says that when she matures as a singer-songwriter and musician, her memories of her childhood are an inspiratoin. The pain I felt growing in my youth as well as the loss of my sister are evident in my lyrics, even though they're not literally. It shapes my songs and creates a deeper meaning under everything which is one the most important things that I value. It is important to me to realize that I could listen to any of my songs 20 years from now and still be happy with what I said.
