Carrie-Anne Moss

CarrieCarrie-Anne Moss was born August 21, 1967 and is a Canadian actress. She became famous for her role as Trinity in The Matrix (1999-present) after playing a few parts on television. She has starred in Memento (2000) for which she received the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female. She also appeared in Red Planet (2000), Chocolat (2000), Fido (2006), Snow Cake (2006) for which she was awarded the Genie Award for Best Performance by an actor in a supporting role, Disturbia (2007), Unthinkable (2010), Silent Hill: Revelation (2012) as well as Pompeii (2014). Moss also played Jeri Hogarth in a variety of television series produced by Marvel Television for Netflix, including Jessica Jones (2015-2019). Moss was living in Spain when she was approached for the part of Tara, Judge Nicholas Marshall's clerk in the drama series Dark Justice. This was her first time on TV. Moss relocated from Barcelona to Los Angeles with the series in 1992. Moss had to leave Dark Justice in the third and final season. She was replaced by Elisa Hingsohn in the role of Samantha Collins. She attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena after her return and she subsequently starred in Fox's primetime soap opera Models Inc., a spin-off of Melrose Place, as a model. In July 1995, the series was put on hold. Matrix the made-in Canada series that was her main character it, was cancelled in July 1995. She was a frequent guest in several television shows such as Street Justice, Baywatch and F/X: The Series. 3 She was awarded an Gemini Award nomination for Best Guest Actress in Drama. She appeared in a number of B-movie parts throughout the decade that included Flashfire (1994) and The Soft Kill(94), Tough Guy (1994), Lethal Tender (1996), Sabotage (1996) and The Secret Life of Algernon (1997).
