
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is a striker. She also serves as the captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division for women's professional soccer. From 2018 to 2020, she co-captained the women's national soccer team of America along with Megan Rappinoe. In the months following her graduation earlier from the University of California, Berkeley, where she played for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was selected as the top pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. There, she made her professional debut and was a part of the team's success in winning the league title. Morgan was 22, at the time was the youngest athlete of the national squad at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the match-winning goal the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada. She was second in the United States to score 21 assists and 20 goals in 2012. This made her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring player in the United States to achieve 20 goals in a single year. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was the FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan contributed to helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was named to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
